Project Mountain Home, is a four-building mountain top sanctuary overlooking the Teton Range and the Snake River Valley. The aesthetic design is composed of elements that represent its surroundings. Rammed earth walls, along with reclaimed wooden timbers combined with our SL30-ISO steel constructions form an organic and intimate composition.

The design of this huge villa uses powerful straight lines giving it a straightforward look. The enormous steel sliding doors provide an immense amount of light and the large patio doors bring daylight throughout the villa.

Sober shapes, but enormously rich due to the dimensions and used materials. The luxurious look is emphasized in the evening by the reflection of the windows in outside pool. The stylishly decorated interior with high-quality artifacts makes it a beautiful luxurious whole.

About this project

A special project where MHB had the honor to be able to supply SL30-ISO® profiles for the outside facade. Because it is a very important cultural-historical building, we were particularly keen to complete this project perfectly. It is also special that the museum remained open during the renovation and that visitors were sometimes temporarily guided around spaces where work was taking place. “It was difficult to stay open, both to the public and to employees, but we are proud and relieved that we succeeded,” said the business director of the museum. We have successfully completed the project and are honored to have MHB profiles in the facade of the Anne Frank House.

About this project

When Mid-Century enthusiasts purchased the original 1800 home, it had long been forgotten and was nearly re-claimed by the native vegetation of an adjacent creek. The existing house was crammed against the far property line. Low ceilings and deep overhangs made for a relentlessly dark interior.

Vegetation was thinned and pushed back to the creek bank establishing an “edge of wild”, demarcating the line between native and manicured landscape.

The existing house was completely reconfigured. The original 8ft ceilings are dramatically contrasted by the new central volume. Its roof, floating above continuous clerestory windows, provides soft balanced daylight while framing panoramic oak canopy views. (source)

This beautiful ranch is inspired by the Texas Hill Country. Throughout the home, interior and exterior architectural elements come together to compliment the vast surrounding scenery. Wood, stone and large ultra-slim steel windows and doors shape this ranch to create a traditional lodge-like feel. The enormous SL30-ISO® steel folding doors enable an immense amount of light for the interior, creating a beautiful blending of indoor and outdoor living.

About this project

“Taula House” is a single-family residence designed for a multi-generational family in Texas. The name “Taula” is derived from the Sanskrit word meaning “Balance.” Guided by the Hindu architecture principles of Vastu shastra, this modern dwelling expresses a balance between traditional beliefs and contemporary ideologies of design. Symmetry, spatial geometry, and delicate detailing were all paramount to the design success of the project.

A minimalist approach to interior finishes focuses attention on the architecture and precise steel detailing of the house. Highlights of the exterior palette make their way into the house with a refined use of weathered steel panels and basalt stone floors and walls. (source)

About this project

This modern house is located in a traditional Swiss neighborhood on the outskirts of Geneva, Switzerland. Carefully integrated into its steeply sloped site, the design of the home balances a modern architectural language with a warm, intimate feel.

Working closely with local Swiss builders and engineers, design principal Tom Kundig incorporated the high level of craftsmanship and precision for which Swiss architecture is known. This collaboration is also reflected in the exterior materials, which consist of the sharp edged steel facade and glass characteristic to Kundig’s style. (Source)
