Van Gogh Museum

About this project

For the new entrance building of the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, Kisho Kurokawa Architects & Associates made a design that consists of the completion of the elliptical building wing. Hans van Heeswijk architects developed, materialized and realized the idea. The building consists of an all-glass roof that is placed over the existing, sunken pond. From a new entrance, directly on the Museumplein, this new, sunken entrance foyer of the museum is reached. What until then had been a gloomy piece of Museumplein is now an inviting place. (source)
